TOURISMUS Pulau Besar Photos: Xu Yueyuan Pulau Besar, literally the “big island”, is accessible by boat from Mersing within 30 minutes. It is characterised by quiet, clean beaches of powdery white sand and crystal-clear azure waters. To preserve the unspoiled marine life, the Government has gazetted it as a marine park to protect around 60 species of marine life from any activities that can harm their natural habitats around the island. One of several resorts on the beautiful island and marine park of Pulau Besar, Aseania Beach Resort offers visitors a glimpse of the beauty of the protected ecosystem and its aquatic wild life. Pulau Besar, die “große Insel”, wie sie übersetzt heißt, ist mit dem Boot von Mersing innerhalb von 30 Minuten zu erreichen. Die Insel zeichnet sich durch ruhige, saubere Strände mit pulvrigem, weißem Sand und kristallklaren, azurblauen Gewässern aus. Um das unberührte Meeresleben in Inselnähe zu bewahren, hat die Regierung das Areal zum maritimen Park ernannt, um etwa 60 Arten des Meereslebens vor jeglichen Aktivitäten zu schützen, die ihren natürlichen Lebensräumen um die Insel schaden können. Aseania Beach Resort ist eines von mehreren Resorts auf der lieblichen Insel. Es bietet den Besuchern einen Einblick in die Schönheit des geschützten Ökosystems und seiner marinen Lebensformen. Pulau Tengah Pulau Tengah is the “middle Island” and is uninhabited except for the guests (and staff) of the high class Batu Batu Resort. The rustic private resort is set amongst coconut groves, rocky outcrops and fine sand beaches. Guests can enjoy the island’s eight white sandy beaches, snorkel or dive amongst its colourful coral reefs and kayak around . Batu Batu is committed to the preservation, proliferation and protection of the flora and fauna in and around Tengah Island. Several conservation initiatives including an island-based Turtle Watch Camp underline this aim. TOURISM Pulau Tinggi Pulau Tinggi, the “high Island” is mostly frequented by tourists with a relaxing beach holiday in mind (read our review online: www.malaysia-insights.com/time-out-on-pulau-tinggi). The only currently open resort on the island is the TAd Marine Resort. Guests who would like to take a break from relaxing can go diving and snorchling. Or they take a trip through the rain forest to a waterfall and take a bath in its cold refreshing water. Pulau Tinggi, die “hohe Insel”, wird gern von Touristen besucht, denen der Sinn nach einem erholsamen Strandurlaub steht.
