An Interview
Editor: Would you like to tell
us a little something about your
book?
Aishwarya: The book “Whistling
Silence” is a collective
effort of 47 amateur
poets, belonging to
different parts of the
world. We ‘Poignant
Painters’ started our
journey through a
blog on Quora, and
slowly worked towards
the dream of
getting published. My
close friend Rohan
Sinha started this
initiative and brought
us all together to work towards the
goal, guiding us all through. We have
never met each other, but our blogto-book
journey steadied virtually.
The book is by dreamers who believed
their dream could turn a reality
someday. And here, we did it!
Editor: What motivated you to
take up this initiative?
Aishwarya: Passion. Dream. Belief.
Passion towards writing, dream of
getting published, and belief that we
all could work together to achieve
bigger things motivated me throughout.
Editor: Do you think writing is
therapeutic?
Aishwarya: Definitely. There’s no better
way of expressing emotions than
writing. You can write things that you
even can’t say. Words
have such power—
they can dissolve your
negative thoughts
and turn them into
positive ones. Writing
clears your mind and
rejuvenates your soul.
Writing is a therapy
and your words, the
therapist.
Editor: Why only
poetry?
Aishwarya: I do write
other pieces like but I found poetry
as a medium to express my feelings.
I believe poetry is born when emotions
meet thoughts and thoughts
meet words. Poetry is instilling life
into your thinking and it’s the best
way to get others understand what’s in
your mind. Poetry can make abstract
thoughts and bridled emotions alive.
Poetry is an expression that lifts the
veil off the hidden musings.
Editor: What difficulties did you
face as new writers when it came
to publication?
Aishwarya: The first and foremost
hurdle we had to face was hunting
for the publishing house. Our team
