Issue 12 - Fear The Fear The Fear Simran Dhingra She wasn’t afraid of the dark, Neither of the spark. But deep inside her heart, There was a scar. Which made her helpless, And often in stress. Her eyes chased the light, And filled her head with fright. Darkness never feared her, Someone’s presence there tears her. Every time she hears a step, She skips half of her breath. The sensation came back every time, When she is in a room with no light. But she tries not to react. She searches for her phone, And turns the torch on. The way she behaved, Made people ponder. What happened in the past, Which made her heart beat fast. Little did she knew, That they weren’t few. When her friends were gone, She was not alone but surrounded by men. They touched her wherever they could, It was dark, and her mouth was shut with a piece of wood, She couldn’t shout but Moved her hands like a trout. They ran away when they heard a sound, Of someone coming when she was profound. She was afraid and could not talk, It was like a mere shock.
