CEO of PureFunds, Andrew Chanin, realised that
people wanted to invest, were not covered by
ETFs yet. PureFunds licenses indexes that are
created by International Securities Exchange, LLC
(ISE). ISE creates indices for specific new themes,
such as cybersecurity, big data, fintech, drones,
gaming etc. and PureFunds launches low-cost
ETFs, that track these indices, into the
marketplace. Just like PureFunds and Motif,
several focused tools are penetrating the investing
world today. Strategies now exist that allow
investors to get exposure to any concept they wish
to buy into, be it technological mega trends,
innovative real estate investing or even trading
strategies they believe have the potential to beat
traditional benchmarks.
Today, such companies that are at the forefront of
innovative thematic investing are seeing massive
inflows into their strategies, which is proof that
investors are looking for alternative ways and means
to invest in the world that is their future. These firms
have disrupted traditional banking and conventional
investments and are innovating in line with the
desires of the new generation investors. Costeffectiveness,
unprecedented access, user-friendly
trading tools and, above all, concept driven
methodologies, have helped these firms in
revolutionising thematic investing. Numerous
competitors are recognising this trend and moving
away from traditional strategies. Thus, an increase in
competition will only serve to improve the experience
for investors. That said, many UHNWIs continue to
be unaware of these new generation investing tools
that are easily available to them. The main reason
being that conventional banking and wealth
management continue to propagate affluent active
funds and traditional investment strategies. It is
imperative that financial advisors lead the progress
and introduce modern age investing tools, such as
these, to their clients, lest they be left behind in
strategies turning obsolete by the day.
