of games and shows. SYS also partnered with
the Asia Dive Exhibition (ADEX) which ran
concurrently at the SUNTEC Exhibition Centre,
providing shuttle bus to connect the two
venues. We were also delighted to welcome
back the on-water Demonstration Platform,
where a range of spectacular toys were
available to be ‘tried and tested’ by some of
the more daring spectators; such engagement
is immensely valuable to the atmosphere of
SYS.
The Singapore Yacht Show (SYS) 2017
confirmed the event’s status as the most
important marine show in South East Asia, and
further developed Singapore’s reputation as
the boating business hub of the region. This
was helped by better weather than in previous
years, and the first-class venue that is ONE˚15
Marina Sentosa Cove. Representatives of
many of the world’s leading brands chose to
exhibit in force, and were happy later to report
an increased number of visitors over 2016, an
increase in the quality of those visitors and,
ultimately, good sales figures and improved
‘further prospects’.
The Show attracted exceptionally strong
representation from the highest-profile
dealers, many of them presenting both
regional and world premières, reflecting the
strategic importance of SYS to so many of the
exhibitors.
In addition to the in-water show, SYS 2017
presented a greatly expanded number of
family-friendly activities over the four days,
including a children’s playground and plenty
The social programme was second-to-none:
immediately after the Asia Pacific Yachting
Conference, SYS celebrated the best-of-thebest
Asia Boating Awards, and those with
sufficient stamina went straight on to the
Singapore Yacht Show Welcome Party. Over
the next four days, a whole catalogue of
dealers’ receptions, VIP parties, fashion shows,
supercar parades and the SYS & Yisin Chinese
Regal Night took place. Aside from the formal
functions, visitors were well catered for by
food & beverage outlets in the pavilions, in
the marina, on the boardwalk and all along
Quayside Isle where guests and industry
professionals were able to meet, relax, and
discuss in the restaurants and bars and any
number of pop-up concept bars as well.
The Singapore Yacht Show team is delighted
to have been the architect of an immensely
successful event, staged in a world class venue,
and putting South East Asia ever more firmly
on the global yachting map.
