52 Q U A R T E R P A G E A D V E R T S C O S T J U S T £ 3 0 SPOTLIGHT In this edition the spotlight falls on Ben Pearson Managing Director of Pro Peak Performance How would you summarise what you do? At Pro Peak performance we recognise people’s love for sport. We meet people daily who were heavily involved in sports in their youth but have lost their confidence to play as they got older. Many of these people regret no longer playing the sport they love but don’t know how to return. We aim to bridge the gap between couch and club, offering specific training 1-1 or in a group setting. We offer detailed, tailor made packages specifically for people’s needs. Ranging from nutrition, exercise and lifestyle advise. Bespoke packages available including transport and daily meals. We also run a boot camp style training called Fit in the Firs (Harlestone Firs) and newly launched Country Circuits (Upton Country Park) for people just looking to get/keep in shape. What first got you interested? I have been playing sport since I was a child, one of my biggest regrets was stopping between the ages of 16-30. I did go to the gym in this time period and I felt I wanted to learn more about the body, how it works, exercise and how they link. So I enrolled in an online personal training qualification and studied at home around work and family life. How do your family / friends feel about what you do? My family, especially my Wife and Brother are hugely supportive and encouraging. When my friends found out what I planned to do they said “of course that is what you should do, it makes so much sense.” Pretty much all of them had this reaction. What do you enjoy most about what you do? What I enjoy most is seeing and hearing about the results and enjoyment my clients are having. What ambitions do you have for the future? I would like to help as many people as possible return to sport and keep healthy. I hope to expand, train and employ staff to enable us to have a further reach across the country. What’s your background? My passion throughout my teenage years was cooking. I went into the hospitality and catering industry after qualifying at college. Since starting a family I moved into the Leisure industry (10 years ago now). My sporting background is Rugby, although I have had my hand in many sports over the years. For the last 7 years I have studied Gung Fu in <strong>Northampton</strong> which is a big part of my life. Who inspires you and why? I could list celebrities such as Donnie Yen, Bruce Lee, Dwayne Johnson, Sir Alex Ferguson, Bear Grylls, Ryan Giggs who have all inspired me in their chosen field for their mentality of doing whatever it takes. But my true inspiration is my younger brother Dan, who is all of the above and more with his strong work ethic, he has achieved greatness within the Rugby world and is simply a decent human being.
