E-MAN
A fountain that has a source that does not
run dry is for a lifetime. When you make Christ
your source, you can never run dry, meaning
that those that feed from your fountain also
can never run dry. When everything goes
wrong in the house the first person to be
looked at and that is expected to do something
about it is the man of the house. There
are a lot of things that the ‘wife’ needs from
the man of the house for her to be strong, for
her to fulfil her own destiny and for her to
serve God. While God is everyone’s source
of strength, the man is the ‘wife’s’ fountain of
strength. God has blessed a woman with
character strength yes, but that character
strength becomes weakened when the man
of the house is pulling to a different direction
all the time. This happens a lot when a man is
not drawing from his source, as well as not
understanding his responsibility as the appointed
leader of the household.
There is a huge misunderstanding of basing
every decision or choice on the ego of a
man; it is on the understanding of the responsibility
that the Lord has placed upon
the man. Somehow, some men think that being
a man means being a dictator and everything
in his house should happen according
to the way he wants, even if Christ is saying
something different. That is the total misunderstanding
of the role of a man in a
household. The Lord has already set a responsibility
upon the ‘wife’ which is to submit
to her husband. In our last issue we also
talked about how a man’s leadership can
make it easy for a woman to do that just as
Christ makes it easy for the church.
A marriage is a ministry ordained by the Lord
to teach and lead the children belonging to
that ministry about Christ and the life He
represents. The man is the appointed leader
of that ministry, so nothing in it is about him
than it is about Christ. It is in this time, that he
makes himself a leader according to his
right, that the fountain runs dry. The problem
now is that once it runs dry it affects those
that are feeding from it as well and not just
him.
The beauty of the fountain lies in the water
that flows out of it, the water that is supplied
by the source being Christ. The power of the
water flowing out of the fountain also lies
with the source. The sound it makes is very
subtle but the power of the flow can chase
off anything that threatens its beauty. As a
man constantly feeds from the source, the
‘wife’ also feeds from the fountain. Be a fine
fountain, supported by the unfailing source.
Let not your misunderstanding of who you
are and what your role is become the reason
of you being a fountain that has run dry.
Seek diligently the Lord as your source, with
the understanding that you are not only
seeking for yourself, but for those that rely on
you as well. Understand that you are a
leader of a ministry ordained by the Lord and
therefore you are always accountable to
Him.
Ephesians 5:27 NET, so
that he may present the
church to himself as glorious
– not having a stain or
wrinkle, or any such blemish,
but holy and blameless.
