Steve Cummings: My father thrust a camera
into my hands at the age of 14 and I've
been hooked ever since. I've had my own
photographic business for more than 25
years, and over that time I have collaborated
with many artists in helping them to promote
their work. I also shoot for a number of
TAFE college ceramics departments. Working
creatively with other artists is one of the most
satisfying areas of my business.
Inga Walton has long had a great passion
for ceramics. Her father is an internationally
renowned Refractories Engineer; purge
plugs, ladles and gone-wrong sections of
industrial kilns have been sitting forlornly
around the house awaiting assessment
for many years. She has contributed to
ten previous issues of JAC, and also writes
for Ceramic Review, Ceramics: Art and
Perceptionffechnical and Neue Keramik .
Karen Weiss: My affair with clay has been
a long and loving one. It has opened other
paths for me - as a writer, a teacher and a
community artist. Clay and words are my
favourite media and my greatest pleasu re is
passing my enjoyment of them on to others.
