Keeping it Real!
BECCLES BEER FESTIVAL RETURNS TO PUBLIC HALL
Now in its 6 th year, the Beccles Beer
Festival has become one of the most
popular events in Beccles calendar and a
celebration of local real ales, ciders and
craft lager...
Last year more than 1500 people visited
the 3 day beer festival, drinking over
4,000 pints from 22 different breweries,
all within 30 miles of Beccles.
Organisers Graham Elliott and Beccles
Lido Director, Shaun Crowley, told Bounce
Magazine “This is the biggest beer festival
in the region and real ale enthusiasts
travel from all over East Anglia.
It’s not just a celebration of local ales but
it’s held in Beccles Public Hall to raise
funds for Beccles Lido, and run by Public
Hall and Lido volunteers – and so it also
celebrates these two fantastic community
run Beccles attractions!”
From Friday-Sunday 17-19 November, the 6 th Beccles Beer Festival
will feature some very special ales not available on draft anywhere
else, as well as festival stalwart Green Jack Ripper!
There will be live music on Friday and Saturday night, with local
festival favourites Owl & Wolves headlining on Friday and back
by popular request Murphys Lore on Saturday night, with their
energetic and high spirited mix music. Sunday is a more relaxed day
and families with well behaved children are welcome.
As usual, the Public Hall will also have a fully licensed bar selling
wines, spirits and soft drinks for the non-ale drinkers, as well as
festival regular Daryl Ling’s bar skittles; and there will be a good
selection of hot and cold snacks to complement the beer, served by
Lido volunteers.
So make this a weekend to get over to Beccles – and why not use
the bus or train so that you can really enjoy a selection of the tipples
on offer?
And if you don’t drink them dry, the Lido team will have a pop up
beer festival as well as mulled wine and cider at Beccles Christmas
Lights Switch On Friday 24 th November.
