Technology is systematically killing<br />
creative writing talents in us. Writing a<br />
letter is no longer a creative challenge<br />
for the young generation. With our<br />
smart phones, sending out abbreviated<br />
messages has become a norm. How<br />
many of us dare post greeting cards to<br />
loved ones during Christmas, birthday<br />
and other occasions? E-card, SMS, text<br />
or email have taken over this creative<br />
social activity.<br />
Technology has taken away the traditional<br />
way or routine of sharing information.<br />
Very few people still walk<br />
into a newspaper stand to access information.<br />
The social media networks<br />
now allow us to access and share pretty<br />
much anything, anywhere, anytime.<br />
What of our television experience? In<br />
as much as many kids are addicted to<br />
the TV due to the technological advancement,<br />
recently, one is no more<br />
held to their black and white TV with<br />
blurred images set. We can now watch<br />
any show we want, when we need and<br />
how we exactly want to.<br />
Surprisingly, technology has impacted<br />
the way we date as well. Those days a<br />
boy would bribe a youngster with a<br />
sweet to go and call the sister are almost<br />
gone. With the online dating<br />
trend, you can meet, discuss and plan<br />
dating outings with your pals exclusively<br />
online. You now understand<br />
why many individuals rather use the<br />
internet to see if they can still hook<br />
from the pool of singles out there.<br />
Channels of communication have<br />
changed. Gone are the days of walking<br />
to the telephone booth to make a call<br />
or strolling to the neighbor for a chat.<br />
The mobile networks and phones have<br />
replaced all that, making communication<br />
more convenient and easier.<br />
Book publishers are equally affected<br />
by technological advancement. So is<br />
our way of reading books. You hardly<br />
need to carry books if you don’t want<br />
to; smartphones,tablets, e-readers<br />
have enabled us to carry our reading<br />
materials on with ease as well as access<br />
them conveniently.<br />

Interestingly, parenting has become<br />
easier due to technology. With different<br />
parental platforms available on the<br />
internet, parents help one another with<br />
the grooming and upbringing of kids.<br />
They can easily share information and<br />
find solutions in times of need.<br />
No doubts, technology is definitely,<br />
changing our lives for the better, making<br />
things becoming easier and more<br />
convenient. At the same time, the latest<br />
technological trends have some social<br />
impediments in our social lives; we are<br />
basically a slave to the new technology.<br />
