Fortunately this is all true! I wish
you the best of luck. I really en-
Joyed my year with all of you. The
trips and seminars were a lot of
fun. I tried to assist you with a
range of experiences through lectures,
trips, parties, and openhouses.
I know that you will remember
this year forever and I hope that
you take what you have learned
back to your home countries, wherever
they might be, so that your
friends can gain from your experlences.
Your experience was special
because of the many changes that
occurred In the Middle East during
your stay. I hope that the Peace
Process will be as successful as we
all wish it to be. I also hope that
the next time you come to Israel,
your parents will be slightly less
worried and that you will be able to
visit all of our neighboring
countries without the need to get a
new and *clean* passport.

It began at the end of July. It
was a hot and humid day. We
waited for you at the airport with
colorful 'Welcome Hebrew U’ signs.
I was perspiring; partly from the
heat but mostly from excitement.
Suddenly we spotted you, exhausted
from your flight, and escorted you
to Givat Ram. Truthfully, I wasn’t
sure how you would react to
M eonot H aE lef but you were
quite heroic. It took a day for the
shock to wear off, and soon you
were more fam iliar with
Ben/M achane Yehuda than I
was. During the week you studied
your "A lef-Bet' and on the weekends
you travelled all over the
country. Even the Israeli summer
heat didn’t stop you. And now this
year is already behind you. A year
of school, tiyulim, parties, and lots
of fun. I hope that you learned
about Israel and mostly about yourselves
this past year. As for me, I
am happy that I was given the
chance to get to know you well; I’ve
learned a lot and epjoyed myself
doing it. Hope to some day see you
again.

Dear Graduate Students,
It's hard to believe, but this year
has come to an end. It seems as If
just yesterday you had all arrived,
and now It’s already time to say
goodbye. I know that most of you
feel that there was not enough time
as you would have liked to see,
hear, and feel everything this country
has to offer. But nonetheless,
you have accomplished much. I
know we tried to show you most of
the natural attractions and I hope
that in our more informal meetings
and discussions, I managed to
share other aspects of Israel with
you. I also hope that from all you
have learned, you can come to appredate
all of the accomplishments
that Israel has achieved In the last
forty-six years along with Its problems
as well; bureaucracy, hot ternperament,
etc...
As you prepare to leave, I wish
you all shalom for Its three most
perfect meanings: go with peace, be
with peace, and come back with
peace.
