design store Paper Plane won
both the Bay of Plenty Business
News Sustainable Business
Practices Award, as well as
the Gartshore Retail Interiors
Retail Excellence Award.
“The store concept is well
executed, including exclusively
sourced local product which
consistently entices repeat
business, with product to cover
all ages and demographics,”
the judges said.
The Sustainable Business
Practices Award also saw a
highly commended citation go
to the Young Innovator Awards
(YIA) coordinated by Priority
One. “This educational programme
is world leading in
educating students in innovation
and design thinking,” said
the judges.
Priority One chief executive
Nigel Tutt said it was great
to see the YIA recognised.
“The have served to inspire
future generations to become
creative innovators, making a
huge impact in the local community.
YIA is a team effort
and we’d like to thank our
many supporters and sponsors.”

business,” the judges said.
The Tauranga City Council
City Events team won the
ACC Workplace Safety Award,
with the judges noting they
had demonstrated outstanding
commitment and leadership in
health and safety.
Bureta Physiotherapy won
the Trustpower Customer
Service, with judges noting
the practice stood out “heads,
shoulders, knees and toes
above the rest in customer service.”
