The State and Territory proof quarters are produced through a<br />
specialized minting process. The coins are struck multiple times<br />
from polished and treated coin blanks. The raised design elements<br />
of proof coins appear frosted and sharply defined against<br />
the intense mirrored-like backgrounds. Proof quarters are minted<br />
exclusively at the San Francisco Mint and carry the “S” mint<br />
mark. The Clad proof quarters are a very limited mintage with an<br />
average of three million of each State. The Silver proof quarters<br />
are less than half of that number mintage.<br />
These sets include all 11 years in the U.S. Mint quarter program<br />
