MBR: How does Parallels intend to continue
its international expansion?
ND: Parallels is a world leader in crossplatform
solutions. We are a successful
global organisation with ten international
offices worldwide and sales in more than
60 countries, keeping strong ties between
our regional headquarters. Our products
help businesses and individuals securely and
productively use their favorite devices and
preferred technology, not depending on actual
OS, providing an intuitive end-user interface.
This meaningfully increases productivity and
reduces complexity. It doesn’t matter where
we are right now; we are everywhere just
because we are international IT-company. If
you mean our global ambitions then we have
sales in 60 countries and they are growing
up. When you have many good products that
are on demand in global markets - it is easy to
expand. This is our story.
MBR: How significant is it to open a new
European technology hub in Malta?
ND: For us it is not the first experience to act
with our partners from Acronis and Runa
Capital in the world. We have already had
the same experience in other countries. Why
we are doing it in Malta right now? I think
it’s clear. Malta has a really good chance
to become the center on innovations. The
country has a good location, a good positive
investment climate and understanding from
the government that IT-technologies are a
new oil.
MBR: What about blockchain? Does this
technology need a critical mass to go
mainstream?
ND: I think in reality not everybody knows
how it works and why blockchain some call
a new Internet. But in a few years, it will be
everywhere. Just try to remember your
feelings about first social networks or Apple
pay. Today, it’s usage by everybody is normal,
but fifteen years ago seemed like fantasy.
In my opinion, in a couple of years we will
need more privacy and data protection. And
blockchain technology which can secure
your sensitive info is a good solution. Just
imagine that you are free from paperwork.
Only trustworthy due to Blockchain data in
databases in operation. Sounds like the Matrix
is coming, remember a famous movie. But
maybe it's true and AI will become a reality in
the life of everyone, I mean in 5-7-10 years.
MBR: How long it will take to adopt
blockchain technology by global industry?

ND: IT-industry is working on it right now.
Other industrial spheres will wake up in a
couple of years. I think the first will be banks.
Next – Insurance, logistics, Healthcare, Law.
Sure, the last will be sport. Though I know
some startups which works with hi-tech
solutions for estimation of results and on this
basis creating personal training programs for
sportsmen. The Future is coming fast. MBR
