Fire Action and Personnel Safety Notices
Fire action notices are required at all fire alarm call points. These notices should give clear
and precise instructions as to what occupants of that particular area of the building should
do in the event of an emergency. They should be prepared in accordance with the means
of escape procedures and any guidance from the Fire and Rescue Authority plus any other
company procedures. Special attention should be given to ensure that these procedures are
reinforced by the training given to staff and visitors to the building.

When choosing which “Fire action notice” is required, the
safety of each person in the building must be considered, e.g.
employees, subcontractors, visitors, pupils and disabled persons
etc. Also the notice should reflect the following conditions where
appropriate :- Automatic dial with lifts or without lift
Manual dial with lift or without lift
