Music co-operative
among Social Business
Wales Award winners
This year’s Social Business Wales Awards
saw the main wins go to a property
maintenance services provider, a hi-tech
manufacturer and a music co-op.
The awards, which highlight the
economic and social impact of co-ops,
social enterprises and employee-owned
businesses, are part of the Social Business
Wales project, which is delivered by the
Wales Co-operative Centre. They were
handed out at a ceremony at Llangollen
Pavilion in Denbighshire.
Denbighshire Music Co-operative won
the One to Watch category – and also
provided the entertainment for the night.
Social Enterprise of the Year went
to Creating Enterprise CIC, the winner
of last year’s One to Watch category. It
offers property maintenance services and
runs an employment academy, which
provides jobs and training to social
housing tenants.
