Appointments Millie Banerjee CBE Home Secretary Amber Rudd has appointed Millie Banerjee CBE as chairman of the College of Policing. Banerjee will now oversee the professional body for everyone in policing and work with the organisation’s newly-confirmed CEO, Mike Cunningham QPM, to professionalise policing still further and make sure officers and staff alike have the skills and knowledge they need in order to keep the country safe. “I have spent many years in policing and it has been a privilege to witness the dedication and compassion of officers and staff to protect the public,” said Banerjee. “This is evident when I see that public approval for the police service has remained high despite officers and staff being faced with complex crime, a reduced workforce and greater demand.” Banerjee has enjoyed a long and varied career in the private and public sectors. She was chairman of the British Transport Police Authority for seven years and held several non-executive appointments, including as a nonexecutive director of the Cabinet Office, Channel 4, the Prisons Board, the Peabody Trust and Ofcom. Banerjee is currently chairman of NHS Blood and Transplant in addition to serving as a Board member of the East London NHS Foundation Trust. Karl Hydes Outsourced support services provider Anchor Group Services – a specialist in integrated security solutions and an Approved Contractor with the Security Industry Authority – has appointed Karl Hydes in the role of national operations director to further develop the company’s growing portfolio of both regional and national accounts. Hydes joins with a wealth of experience, having spent the last several years at Savills UK and Churchill Contract Services, where he was instrumental in developing the operational offerings for public and private sector clients right across the UK. Speaking about his new role, Hydes commented: “I’m excited to begin a new challenge within Anchor and look forward to working with the team on further developing our service offer. I’m very fortunate to be joining such a respected company that prides itself on top quality service.” Hydes began his new role in November, initially taking over responsibility for the North West region prior to assuming a full national role. To ensure a smooth transition, Hydes worked with general manager Alex Hiles throughout last month. As a senior figure in the industry, Karl brings a wealth of operational and strategic experience at a national level.” Ashley Lane Digital forensics triage specialist Evidence Talks has appointed Ashley Lane as the business’ new CEO, while Elizabeth Sheldon now steps up to the role of company chairman. Joining from technology company MASS where he served as managing director, Lane’s enviable record combines achievements in converting technologies into successful business propositions with significant expertise in cyber security, information management and digital forensics services, along with software and electronics product development. Speaking about his appointment, Lane informed Risk UK: “We operate in a crucial market that requires a constant focus on the ability to accelerate advancements. Right now, we’re deeply engaged in executing our growth strategy to tackle the rising complexities and sophistication in digital crime. I’m really looking forward to working with clients on delivering their evidential requirements in both a fast and effective manner.” Keith Bardsley Hanwha Techwin has appointed Keith Bardsley as business development manager for the North of England. Bardsley will now work closely with installers and system integrators to identify new opportunities for Wisenet video surveillance solutions and provide pre- and post-sales support for ongoing projects. Prior to joining Hanwha Techwin, Bardsley was regional sales manager for NW Systems Group, a systems integrator specialising in IP network-based security solutions. He has also worked for both Intech Solutions and ADT Fire & Security. Bob Hwang, managing director of Hanwha Techwin Europe, told Risk UK: “We are delivering on our promise to provide the best possible support for our business partners and customers alike by continuing to increase our pre- and post-sales resources in line with increased demand. I’m pleased to welcome Keith to our UK sales team.
