samples. A new, reproducible laboratory<br />

technique,known as metabolomics,wilbe<br />

usedtomeasure233diferentcomponentsof<br />

blood thatindicate a range ofmetabolic<br />

processes.When we know more aboutthe<br />

pathwaythatleadsfrom lifestyletodiseasewe<br />

wilbe beterable to predictwho wilstay<br />

healthyandwhowilnot.Inthisstudy,oneof<br />

ouraimsistofindthemainbehavioursrelated<br />

tokeepingahealthymetabolism andreducing<br />

theriskofcardiovasculardiseaseinthefuture<br />

(interventionstudy).<br />

In Malaysia the prevalence of<br />

obesityamongadolescentsisincreasing<br />

and non-communicable diseases,like<br />

type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular<br />

disease,accountfortwo outofthree<br />

deaths.Resultsfrom thelargeadolescent<br />

studyofover1361adolescents,caled<br />

MyHeARTs(Hazreen etal,2014)has<br />

shownthatmoreintergratedintervention<br />

among the adolescents forachieving<br />

healthylifestyleiscrucial.Forthenew<br />

Newton-ASM funding, this study<br />

investigates how diferent lifestyle<br />

factors, like foods eaten, timing or<br />

frequency ofeating,physicalactivity,<br />

sedentarybehavioursandtheirtimingor<br />
