ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT HIGHLIGHTS (cont.)<br />

Other businesses have undergone construction, renovation, and relocation within<br />

<strong>Mauldin</strong>, including Jon Kane Fashions, Wendy’s, Little Pigs Bar-B-Q, ACE Hardware,<br />

and the soon-to-open Tropical Grille. Additionally, the Social Security Administration<br />

is relocating from Greenville to <strong>Mauldin</strong>’s North Main Street, while construction is<br />

underway on North Main for the Office of Disability and Adjudication Review.<br />

<strong>Mauldin</strong>’s development includes the City’s vision for urban village growth and design.<br />

In coordination with Greenville County, the city of <strong>Mauldin</strong> obtained approval for<br />

two multi-county parks. Additionally, <strong>Mauldin</strong> has approved various amendments<br />

to update its zoning laws in order to cultivate more mixed-use, pedestrian-friendly<br />

development throughout the city.<br />

As the city grows, <strong>Mauldin</strong> remains a safe, inviting community. In 2017, Money<br />

Magazine recognized <strong>Mauldin</strong> as one of the best places to live in the United<br />

States. Known for its excellent schools, great businesses, low crime rates, low<br />

property taxes, and a great workforce, <strong>Mauldin</strong> was the top ranked South Carolina<br />

community on the magazine’s list. Nerdwallet named <strong>Mauldin</strong> one of the ten best<br />

cities to start a business, and OnlyInYourState.com named <strong>Mauldin</strong> in the 15 happiest<br />

cities in SC. SmartAsset ranked the city as having the healthiest housing market as well<br />

as one of the top five safest cities in the state, while the Palmetto Promise Institute listed<br />

<strong>Mauldin</strong> among the top<br />

five enterprise-friendly<br />
