selection of pre-loved clothing for men,<br />
women and children as well as end-of-line,<br />
brand-new designer clothing from new<br />
Zealand labels iVYBLU and White Chalk.<br />
Business owner Ali, who is celebrating the<br />
one-year anniversary since she took over<br />
on <strong>May</strong> <strong>18</strong>, 2015, says she has made a few<br />
changes to the shop.<br />
“We have a much bigger range now,<br />
with sizes from 4-24, and all the preloved<br />
clothing is of excellent quality. We<br />
have everything from designer brands<br />
to everyday gear and accessories. i call it<br />
‘recycling at its finest’.”<br />
Time & Time Again is always accepting<br />
stock, Ali says. There is a six-week turnover,<br />
and if items are not sold within that time,<br />
they are either returned to the owner or<br />
donated to charity.<br />
“We support St Vincent de Paul and Dress<br />
For Success, which is a charity that helps<br />
women who need to be dressed well to<br />
apply for jobs.”<br />
The income from the sale of clothing<br />
is split 50/50 between the owner of the<br />
clothing and Time & Time Again. People<br />
supplying the shop are not just from<br />
Christchurch; they come from as far afield<br />
as Auckland, Blenheim and the West Coast,<br />
so customers can always find something<br />
different on the racks.<br />
“The atmosphere is very relaxed and we<br />
like our customers to have fun while they’re<br />
shopping – there’s no pressure to buy,” Ali<br />
says.<br />
She and her assistant Mitch see<br />
themselves as Sumner’s answer to Trinny<br />
and Susannah.<br />
“We like to play dress-ups with our<br />
customers who are looking for a change of<br />
style and we will give our honest opinion<br />
if they want it. And we want to thank<br />
customers for all their wonderful support<br />
and business over our first 12 months,” Ali<br />
says.<br />
Time & Time Again also supports the<br />
local community. For example, they held<br />
a garage sale last year to fundraise for the<br />
Sumner Volunteer Fire Brigade’s new fire<br />
truck, which is due to arrive in the next<br />
couple of weeks.<br />
Time & Time Again, in the Village Mall,<br />
Sumner, is open 10am-5pm seven days a<br />
week, with a late night on Thursday, and<br />
also sells through Facebook or<br />
