Naval Point Club in Lyttelton<br />

to discuss articles of interest,<br />

listen to keynote speakers and<br />

organise events connected<br />

with the sea and those who<br />

sail on it. Events include:<br />

Marine electronics workshops,<br />

meteorology, how to read the<br />

clouds, talks from cruisers about<br />

their past adventures, learn how<br />

to splice ropes, on-water sailing<br />

events, tours of visiting boats,<br />

provisioning, nautical book<br />

launches, rigging, and much<br />

more. Everyone is welcome to<br />

attend, free entry, the bar is open<br />

and annual club membership is<br />

just $20 per person.<br />

Lost Cave Baches<br />

Friday, all day<br />

Visit an exhibition of photos<br />

and stories that explores the history<br />

of the lost cave baches.<br />

Hidden in the cliffs of the<br />

peninsula were three Edwardian<br />

cave mansions resplendent with<br />

chandeliers, a grand piano, a<br />

camera obscure, and ringing<br />

with the music of the times.<br />

This exhibition will show photographs<br />

and tell stories of the lost<br />

cave baches, located between the<br />

east end of Taylors Mistake and<br />

Boulder <strong>Bay</strong>. A booklet will be<br />

available with photographs and<br />

stories.<br />
