A LUXURIOUS Pigeon Bay
property has won gold at the
New Zealand Bach of the Year
Awards.
‘The Point’ got the top gong
for eco-friendliness in the
competition, which has been
run by holiday rental site
Bookabach for the past five
years.
The Warren and Mahoney
designed, off-the-grid house
has a private swimming cove
and rents for $490 per night.
There were eight category
winners selected by public
vote, including most charming,
best design, best setting,
best urban bach and familyfriendly.
A Christchurch property
in Richmond won gold in
the urban category and one
in Hanmer Springs took out
a silver in the pet-friendly
section.
The holiday homes are
shortlisted by Bookabach
from more than 11,000 properties
across the country.
All of the eight gold-winning
properties went into the
running for ‘Supreme Bach
of the Year’ which was taken
out by the ‘best setting’ winner,
a beachfront property in
Whangamata, Coromandel.
ECO-STAR: ‘The Point’ in Pigeon Bay won gold in
the eco-friendly category of Bookabach’s Bach of
the Year Awards.
