Tell us a little about yourself<br />
My father was a barber for more than<br />
40 years. I grew up in the industry and<br />
used to work with him in his barber shop<br />
before he handed it down to me. The<br />
first thing I did was metro it to include<br />
women and girls hair styling, still offering<br />
fabulous cuts for guys of all ages. I then<br />
branched out and opened my first salon,<br />
which like so many others I lost in the<br />
earthquake and have had to start over.<br />
I’ve always been in Christchurch and love<br />
our city. Elite Hair Cuts is my new result<br />
with its new, fun, energetic location at 238<br />
Barrington Street, just opposite the St.<br />
Nicholas Church.<br />
Salon Atmosphere<br />
Elite Hair Cuts is decorated like the salon<br />
of years gone by- when going to the salon<br />
was an event customary to patrons. We<br />
have the big, comfortable styling chairs<br />
where we can have a yarn and a yonder.<br />
Big mirrors line the walls, so the customer<br />
can see every angle. On the walls are<br />
pictures of ‘comfort’ representing holiday<br />
memories amongst the palm trees.<br />
Specialty Areas<br />
Blade Cut – Louise is known around<br />
Christchurch for her precision sculpturing<br />
and graphic styling techniques. This<br />
desired cut is performed by very few<br />
stylist in the area. “I’ve been hairdressing<br />
for the past 33 years and have added<br />
open blade cuts in the past five years.<br />
Including open blade around the neck<br />
and sideburns and then box in around the<br />
forehead. ” Louise says.<br />
Elevated Bobs – a specialty in itself,<br />
Louise is a master at this style, especially<br />
with naturally curly hair.<br />
Razor Cuts – work better than thinning<br />
scissors, because they keep the length,<br />
while thinning out the client’s hair,<br />
especially for women’s hair.<br />
