Linwood artist Pollyanna, used<br />

to describe her latest works<br />

of art. Despite having had a<br />

serious accident which affected<br />

her ability to move easily she<br />

has created her unique art with<br />

pastels.<br />

Reading to Dogs<br />

Wednesday 3.30pm-4.30pm<br />

Designed to provide a relaxed,<br />

non-threatening atmosphere<br />

which encourages children to<br />

practice their reading skills and<br />

develop a love of reading. These<br />

furry friends have all been<br />

trained and tested for health,<br />

safety and temperament. Library<br />

staff and a dog handler<br />

will be present at all times to<br />

help facilitate the sessions.<br />

Following on from the kids<br />

with talent open mic night, this<br />

one is for the adults. Whether<br />

your talent lies in poetry, singing,<br />

stand-up comedy, or any<br />

other form of performing, here<br />

is a chance to show your skills.<br />

Everything is provided, all you<br />

need to do is show up and take<br />

an instrument along if you need<br />

one for your performance. You<br />

get 10 minutes to show your<br />

talent to the audience. Take<br />

yourself along early to watch<br />

the kids perform and offer your<br />

support from 5.30pm onwards.<br />

Refreshments will be available<br />

throughout the evening, but<br />

bring cash as there will be no<br />

eftpos.<br />

KIDS WITH TALENT: Calling all kids who want to perform, this<br />

event is for you. On Sunday, children who are talented singers,<br />

dancers or budding comedians can sign up and show their skills<br />

with an eight-minute performance. There will be a sound and<br />

light technician on-hand to take care of the technical side of<br />

things. Sign up will start at 5.30pm and work on a first-in,<br />

first-served basis. The performances will start at 6pm and run<br />

until 7pm. This event will be held at the Irish Society Hall, 29<br />

Domain Tce, Spreydon. Entry is $2.<br />

groups that will be present are<br />

part of the Greater Linwood<br />

Forum, which meets on the first<br />

Monday of each month, from<br />

10.30am to noon. Groups use the<br />

forum to learn from each other,<br />

share information, celebrate<br />

successes and discuss current<br />

issues.<br />
