The soldiers from Heathcote<br />

Valley who died in World War<br />

1 are individually remembered<br />

in this exhibition. Staff from the<br />

library researched the lives of<br />

each of the soldiers listed on the<br />

Heathcote Valley War Memorial<br />

and have created a touching<br />

glimpse into the lives of some<br />

locals who paid the supreme<br />

sacrifice for their country.<br />

Reading to Dogs<br />

Tomorrow, 3.30-4.30pm<br />

The programme uses dogs<br />

which are the beloved pets of the<br />

city council animal management<br />

team. These hairy friends have<br />

all been trained and tested for<br />

health, safety and temperament.<br />

The dogs can increase a child’s<br />

relaxation while reading, they<br />

listen attentively, do not judge,<br />

laugh or criticise and allow<br />

children to proceed at their<br />

own pace. Library staff and a<br />

dog handler will be present at<br />

all times to help facilitate the<br />

sessions. Sessions are<br />

15min.<br />
