PHOTOS: WILSON LONGHURST Hillmorton High School year 9 students enjoyed a day outside the classroom recently, planting trees and shrubs at Halswell Quarry. It’s the second year the school has run the planting project. With the help of city council park rangers, the students successfully planted more than 400 plants. They also undertook a programme of learning while at the quarry, The event was timed to coincide with Arbor Day and Matariki. STAR: Daniel Lovegrove earned the Barrington Kip McGrath Star of the Month for May. His tutors said Daniel always arrives at his class with a smile, having completed his homework to an excellent standard. His tutors said he is also motivated and a very hard worker in class and that he has made excellent progress during his time at Kip McGrath.
