If you watched What Next? on TV One<br />
recently, you will be aware how quickly NZ<br />
is being impacted by emerging technologies.<br />
Tech roles exist in nearly all industries<br />
now, from agriculture to zoology, and huge<br />
growth in the already significant tech sector<br />
in Canterbury is predicted by the Canterbury<br />
Development Corporation.<br />
To fuel this growth, we need more trained<br />
tech people. SIGNAL is working with<br />
industry to help meet this need via Shift, an<br />
innovative industry-driven tech programme<br />
for those who are seeking a new career path,<br />
but who do not have an IT background. This<br />
intensive 9 month programme is open to<br />
degree holders in any discipline, from NZ or<br />
off-shore - in fact, diversity is welcomed!<br />
The Shift programme is ideal for those<br />
looking to return to the work force, and<br />
offers school friendly hours allows you to<br />
up-skill without sacrificing family time.<br />
There are a number of tech jobs in NZ and<br />
they cover a varied skill set. You can focus<br />
on software design and development or you<br />
could concentrate on other high demand<br />
skills, such as project management, product<br />
testing, user experience, business analysis,<br />
technical writing. The Shift programme<br />
uses immersive studio-based learning and<br />
real-world experience via industry projects<br />
and placements to produce graduates with<br />
well-rounded technical and communication<br />
skills, able to work with any team within the<br />
exciting tech sector.<br />

Christchurch Shift programme starting on<br />
July 24 and there are scholarships available<br />
