Rolleston Primary School pupils Arlica Lange,<br />
Ashleigh McCloy, Taylor McCormack and<br />
Georgia D’Ewes were invited to attend a leader’s<br />
day event run by World Vision New Zealand,<br />
which is the organiser of the 40-hour famine.<br />
This day-long experience educated students<br />
on the plight of the Syrian refugees. The school<br />
raised enough money last year to sponsor the<br />
opening of two schools in Syrian refugee camps.<br />
This year the school’s goal is to raise enough for<br />
three schools. It will be asking the community to<br />
support their fundraising efforts this term. <br />
