So is it just me
or is business
and “stuff”
feel like it is
already midsummer
and
we are looking
forward to the Fall Season slowdown?
Your Charitable Foundation has started
out of the gates of 2018 with warped
speed.
1. On January 16th, Dee Karlsson
and her staff put together a fundraiser
that consisted of a
private showing of the
new Star Wars movie as
well as a Silent Auction.
It was a tremendous
success with almost
every seat sold and approximately
2/3 of the
theatre seats had warm
and happy bodies in
them. Additionally, over $1000 dollars
were raised via the Silent Auction. Please
note that every penny of profit will be
donated to
Peninsula
housingrelated
charities
in the Fall.
2. Then one week later, Tu Ritter set
up the Foundation’s support of the Virginia
Peninsula’s Food Pantry distribution of
food items to those in need in Poquoson.
Literally a huge truck loaded with pallets
of turkeys, ham, chicken, canned goods,
produce etc. were unloaded and handed
out to those less fortunate. It gives us a
good understanding of how blessed we
are when we help out in an event like this.
3. As a reminder, our remaining
2018 fundraising events will include the
highly successful annual golf tournament
in May, a Bowlathon in July, and a Casino
Night in October.
4. We still have several non-fundraising
months to conduct our hands-on
assistance to these housing related charities.
For example, we could be helping
Habitat for Humanity with a home construction
project or LINK and their winter
homeless shelter program.
If you would like to know more about
the Foundation or perhaps wish to get
involved in this community outreach
program, please feel free to give me a call
(660-3906) or email me at Sully@Liz-
Moore.com. We look forward to sharing
with you more great news about your
Foundation in the coming months.
