The Greenwood Village City Council<br />
is seeking to fill a current vacancy on<br />
the Planning and Zoning Commission<br />
and Board of Adjustments and Appeals<br />
in District 2. The City Council is<br />
looking for dedicated residents<br />
committed to encouraging, promoting<br />
and sustaining excellence in the Village<br />
to fill these vacancies. The Village is<br />
divided into four districts in which<br />
two members are appointed from each<br />
of the four districts.<br />
PLANNING AND<br />
ZONING COMMISSION<br />
The Planning and Zoning<br />
Commission is a decision-making<br />
group of volunteer citizens appointed<br />
by City Council. The Commission<br />
reviews and advises the City Council<br />
on public and private activities<br />
involving the physical, social, and<br />
economic development of the Village<br />
and prepares and recommends a<br />
Comprehensive Plan for the physical<br />
development of the community. The<br />
Commission also reviews development<br />
proposals and sign programs. The<br />
Planning and Zoning Commission is<br />
made up of eight members each<br />
serving two-year terms.<br />
The Planning and Zoning<br />
Commission meets on the first and<br />
third Tuesday of every month at 7<br />
p.m. at City Hall.<br />
BOARD OF<br />
ADJUSTMENTS<br />
AND APPEALS<br />
The Board of Adjustments and<br />
Appeals serves as a quasi-judicial<br />
appellate board of volunteer citizens<br />
appointed by City Council. The Board<br />
reviews and makes decisions regarding<br />
requests for variances from the strict<br />
application of the zoning ordinance,<br />
hears appeals to administrative<br />
decisions, and performs other duties<br />
and functions as may be designated by<br />
City Council. The Board of<br />
Adjustments and Appeals is made up<br />
of eight members each serving twoyear<br />
terms.<br />
The Board of Adjustments and<br />
Appeals meets on the fourth Thursday<br />
of every month (except for November)<br />
at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall.<br />
