CITYWIDE BANKS FLASHING BACK
TO MOMENTS IN COLORADO HISTORY
During 2018, Citywide Banks is celebrating its 55th Anniversary as a Colorado
focused, community bank. Its roots go back to July 1963, when it converted an
old tire shop on Colfax Avenue to open its first branch. The bank, which has
recently expanded to 25 locations across metro Denver, Boulder, and the
mountains, has seen a lot of changes take place in Colorado. For fun, Citywide
Banks has compiled a list of its most memorable moments in Colorado during
the bank’s first 55 years. And, no, this is not a list about banking advancements
throughout the decades. Every Wednesday, the bank will share another flashback
moment about Colorado on its Facebook, Twitter, and Linkedin pages.
WHAT DO YOU REMEMBER?
Most of us remember those Broncos back-to-back Super Bowl wins and the
completion of the T-Rex project. But who can recall when the Beatles show was
at Red Rocks, Klondike and Snow, the Humpty Dumpty Drive-in’s historic
cheeseburger, or Shep the turnpike dog? Did you know that Disney tested new
ideas for its parks at Denver’s Celebrity Sports Center? Who can forget the
Balloon Boy hoax that captivated the Front Range in 2009. They are all on the
Citywide Banks list with plenty of detail. Join the fun look back at the state we
all love.
FDIC and a Equal Housing Lender. GV
I have been
involved with the
DTC Chamber for
over two years
now. It is such a
wonderful
organization. I
have met so
many incredible
people who have
helped me grow on so many levels. The
DTC Chamber is so much more than other
chamber organizations I have been
associated with in that they truly care
about the community and strive to make a
difference. One example is their mentoring
program. I am currently mentoring two
incredible young professionals. We learn
from each other which is why this
program is so beneficial. I am truly
honored to be a part of this program and
the DTC Chamber.
