Today, the library needs a little tender love and care as it is facing a series of issues as discussed at the Lake Forest City Council meeting on Monday, Feb. 5. Catherine Lemmer, director of Lake Forest Library, explained the many issues the library is facing, one of the biggest being the dome of the library. As winter started, residents may have noticed the library covered the outside of the dome with a tarp, “to buy [the library] some time,” Lemmer said. Owner Pam Hillman bought the store eight years ago and runs it with her daughter, Alyson Hillman Pedowitz. When she’s ready to retire, Hillman hopes to pass the store on to her daughter.
