waters receded, helped purchase building materials and participated
in the repairs. We want our unfortunate neighbors to know that we
are here to help long after the disaster passes for as long as they need
us. As participants in Fort Bend Recovers and in collaboration with
partners across our Fulshear-Simonton community, the Rotary Club
of Brazos River continues to help folks affected by Hurricane Harvey
and its floodwaters.
Although the disaster struck in late August 2017, the recovery and
rebuild process will take many, many more months and our Club intends
to continue serving through this long haul. Stay informed about
the needs of our neighbors as they rebuild their lives and please help
through your gifts of treasure and/or ability. Email us @ BrazosRiver-
thanks to the more than 120 folks from across our community who took
part in the Honor Our Veterans Breakfast. Veterans from all services:
In December, learning that there were families in our community who
were not going to have a Christmas because of Harvey’s continuing
effect, Club members stepped in and created an Adopt-A-Family for
Christmas project.
Additionally, members of the club volunteer at the monthly Family
Hope Food Fair. Hundreds of families come on the second Saturday
of each month to receive food and other items that are available.
