TEXAS MASTER NATURALISTS ANNOUNCE
SPRING TRAINING SCHEDULE
As a Master Naturalist, you will join a corps of volunteers dedicated to
the beneficial management of our natural resources and natural areas.
Are you interested in our natural habitat -learning more about native
plants and grasses; local geology; natural water systems; native birds,
insects and mammals; hummingbirds or butterflies; our overall ecosystem?
If so, you can enhance your knowledge of these areas and more
by becoming a Certified Texas Master Naturalist. Naturalist students
and graduates of this program volunteer for numerous projects around
Fort Bend and Waller County including Katy Prairie Conservancy, Brazos
Bend State Park, local independent school district educational
programs, Fort Bend County Fair, the Prairie Heritage Festival and the
Chapter’s signature project, Seabourne Creek Nature Park.
You may be involved in anything from trail management to educating
students about our natural habitat… you will decide based on what
interests you most. The classes are scheduled to begin March 24th
and complete on Saturday, May 26th and will include four evening
classes on Tuesday evenings from 6:30-9 PM and eight Saturday classes
from 9 AM until 2 PM. Saturday classes are held at nearby parks and
preserves to provide additional educational opportunities for new
trainees in the field.
fields, you will participate in field trips to exciting locations including
