The boys have a collection of half templates for each of the board types they have designed. After the stringers are glued ,thickened to the right depth and prepped they are ready to be shaped. The templates are kept as halfs so they can be used later on when the guys need to have the perfect edge for the router. Nothing beats the pencil for mark making in the carpentry business. Having the half template allows the boys to keep the shape perfectly in line with the grain and the stringers so the board is tat its strongest.
