Taieri Gorge Railway is one of the<br />

<strong>The</strong> train departs from the fabulous<br />
Dunedin Railway station – rumoured<br />
to be the most photographed<br />
building in New Zealand and one<br />
you should explore before your<br />
adventure begins on board the<br />
train. Once on board you will travel<br />
through the Southern end of the<br />
city until you arrive at the junction<br />
of Wingatui where the train turns off<br />
and begins its meandering trip into<br />
the Taieri Gorge.<br />
<strong>The</strong> train will stop or slow down at<br />
various scenic points along the way<br />
for photos where you can disembark<br />
and stretch your legs and enjoy the<br />
best of beauty, peace and quiet that<br />
nature has to offer.<br />
Dunedin Railways also operate the<br />
Seasider, an exciting trip which takes<br />
passengers on the spectacular<br />
section of coastal railway line<br />
between Dunedin and Oamaru<br />
and operates on frequent days<br />
throughout the summer season.<br />

Speedway is the place to be this<br />
summer and once again kicking<br />
off the festive season is the annual<br />
Boxing Day show featuring the very<br />
popular Ramp Race Demolition<br />
Derby! Boxing Day at Woodford<br />
Glen is one of the clubs biggest<br />
shows of the year with upwards of<br />
7000 fans attending a great night<br />
out the whole family can enjoy.<br />
Kicking the New Year off on Friday<br />
and Saturday January 5th and<br />
6th is the 2018 Burger King New<br />
Zealand Saloon Championship<br />
and with just on 60 entries from<br />
all over New Zealand, this is one<br />
show not to be missed. This is the<br />
first time Woodford Glen is hosting<br />
this prestigious championship and<br />
a number of local drivers are a real<br />
chance of winning the National<br />
title. Ryan Marsden is in hot form<br />
after recently winning the south<br />
island Saloon Championship (held<br />
in Cromwell) whilst heading the<br />
north island charge is popular golf<br />
caddy and a past National Saloon<br />
Champion Steve Williams.<br />
Woodford Glen is special. It has an<br />
atmosphere that has evolved from a<br />
long history and tradition with third<br />
generation fans and competitors<br />
continually showing support. <strong>The</strong><br />
bullring surroundings of the Glen<br />
bring a vitality and excitement<br />
to the entertainment it provides<br />
– the thunder and vibrations of<br />
the engines and the colour and<br />
spectacle of highly polished race<br />
cars as they race under the lights of<br />
the oval.<br />
Family fun and value for money<br />

which includes entry for two adults<br />
and up to four children (<strong>14</strong>years<br />

are only $5 with under 5’s free. An<br />
adult ticket is only $20 whilst senior<br />
citizens pay just $10.<br />
