Director’s Message
Hello Mequon-Thiensville
Community Members:
Thank you for taking the time to read this message and for looking through this amazing selection of
Summer opportunities that we offer the community. This is the biggest brochure we have ever had with
a vast selection of offerings for all ages. Some of our new and exciting programs are Girls Lacrosse
Camp, Girls Softball Academy, Girls High School Volleyball Camp, Milwaukee Bucks Camp, Chapman
Basketball Academy Clinic, Older Americans Month of May discussion, Mad Science programs,
Computer Explorer programs, and other various Adult/Senior programs.
We are heading into our third year of Summer Academy. The class listing and registration began back
on February 1 and has a deadline of April 15. Location for this Summer will be at Wilson Elementary
School. We hope that you take full advantage of this opportunity for academic and enrichment classes
for grades K4 – 8th. Please see pages 48-54 for full details. Any questions on the Summer Academy

The Recreation Department would like to introduce the new member of our team, Emily Kuspa, to the
community. Emily had been hired as the Before and After School Coordinator in the district. She will
be implementing the NEW before and after school care program at all 3 elementary schools starting
in Fall for the ’18-’19 school year. Emily is coming from the City of Greenfield Parks and Recreation
Department where she was very instrumental in helping start their before and after school care program
2 years ago. We are very excited to have Emily on board and look forward to a successful first school
year. Details on the program will come out in March to the community.
