Become an aerospace engineer as work in teams to build a real rocket! We’ll learn about the amazing forces that effect flight; then, put these forces to the test as we watch our rockets blast off high into the air. Kids will build their very own propeller powered Shuttle Copter to continue the high-flying fun at home!! Children should bring their own snack to camp (No peanut products, please). NEW Crayola World of Design Crayola® World of Design is a summer camp that takes kids on a journey to the edges of their imagination – and beyond! They learn about Mars, the rainforest, and cities of the future, and get engaged in the creative design process to solve real-world problems. Each camp day focuses on a specific field of design, and our young architects, illustrators and graphic designers develop their ideas from concept, to sketch, to finished product. They bring their concepts to life by experimenting with Crayola® products, and exploring art techniques like sculpting, storyboarding, mixed media, and collage. Combining art, design, fun active games and inspiring themes from around the world, this camp is designed to inspire! Children should bring their own beverage and snack to camp each day. (No peanut products, please). Youth Programs/Enrichment Continued 47 MAD SCIENCE (Continued from previous page.) The Science of Slime That’s right; this 1 day camp is all about creating gooey globs of fun, better known as slime. With the help of Mad Scientist instructors, Jr. Scientists will get to whip up several different slime recipes and spend the day learning about polymers. Glitter Slime, glow in the dark slime, orb slime, the possibilities are endless as kids experiment at our Slime Bar. Jr. Scientist will also test their slime creations in a series of fun games and activities known as the Slime Olympics! Each child will make 3 types of polymers including 2 different varieties of slimes and a superball to take home. (No chunky or sticky slime allowed in our lab! Our slime is made with PVA. Slime made with PVA is often referred to as commercial or “professional Mad Scientists” slime. One touch and you will feel the difference!) Children should bring their own lunch, beverage and snack to camp each day. (No peanut products, please). Secret Agent Lab The following camp description is TOP SECRET: Ever dream of becoming a secret agent? We’ll start with the basics: From decoding messages to metal detectors and night vision, campers have the opportunity to check out spy tech equipment and take home lots of gadgets like spy glasses! Step into the shoes of a detective as you uncover the science involved in evidence gathering and analysis! Figure out the science of forensics in a hands-on look at crime scenes! Become a super spy and learn clever ways of performing tasks as we take a hands-on investigation of the science that spies use! Children should bring their own beverage and snack to camp each day.
