Stonebwoy, Nyovest’s
collaboration title revealed
THE TITLE for the collaboration
between Ghanaian
Dancehall artiste, Stonebwoy,
and South African rapper,
Cassper Nyovest, has been revealed.
‘Wame’ is a combination of expressions
in Twi and Xhosa – languages spoken
in their country of origin.
The song has a Dancehall, Highlife
and Afrobeats feel and it will be released
on April 14, 2018. It is the second time the
two acts have worked together. They first
worked on ‘Fever off the Refiloe’ album
by Nyovest released in 2015.
The rapper called the Dancehall artiste
a because of his achievement on the Billboard
World Charts with his album ‘Epistles
of Mama (EOM).’
The album peaked at the number thirteen
spot, based on sales data compiled
by Nielsen Music. It was released on December
12, 2017.
Sean Paul, Burna Boy, Sarkodie, Efya,
“It’s inspired by the good morals, the
teachings, the lessons, the anguish and
the smiles of life. All the important things
in life which are passed on to us by our
mothers,” explained Stonebwoy during an
album listening session at Red Bull studios
in the UK.
The album is dedicated to the memory
of his mother, Catherine Satekla, who
died in 2015.
Otabil is the most Influential
Ghanaian Pastor – Josh Laryea
PASTOR JOSH Laryea has named
his former boss, Dr Mensa Otabil of
the International Central Gospel
Church, as the most influential Pastor
in Ghana in contemporay times.
According to him, the famous
motivational speaker and preacher
stands out among other famous men
of God such as Archbishop Duncan-
Williams, Bishop Agyinasare and
Pastor Eastwood Anaba.
When asked by Bola Ray on ‘Starr
Chat Wednesday’ about who, in his
opinion, is the most influential pastor
in Ghana, the ‘Mmere’ singer said: “I
will definitely go for Dr Mensa Otabil
because he impacted my life and
he impacted it so very well. I work at
Central University and so personally
I can feel the impact.”
Pastor Laryea, who has several hit
gospel songs to his credit, says although
he is no longer a member of
the ICGC, he holds nothing against
the church and its founder.
The ‘Ngboo’ singer was suspended
by the Otabil-led church in
April 2017 for misconduct.
A statement by the church announcing
his suspension said: “The
Presbytery has authorised the Disciplinary
Committee to look into the
allegations levelled against Rev.
Laryea.
“Rev. Josh Laryea is being withdrawn
from the pulpit and thereby
the Doxa Temple with immediate effect.
This is to allow the Committee
carry out its work uninterrupted”.
her to shoot the movie.
“Myself and Esosa have a mutual
