• increase efficiency of decision <strong>and</strong> policy makers authorities response, to improve the<br />

preparedness level of our societies <strong>and</strong> to limit the high economic cost of clim<strong>at</strong>e variability<br />

impact on fire <strong>and</strong> post fire risks, develop methods <strong>and</strong> specific procedures within the frame<strong>work</strong><br />

of fire <strong>and</strong> post fire risk management in Europe <strong>at</strong> clim<strong>at</strong>ic time scales (from seasonal to longer<br />

time scales),<br />

• strengthen the science-policy-society nexus using a particip<strong>at</strong>ory approach, by improving already<br />

oper<strong>at</strong>ional or experimentally tested clim<strong>at</strong>e services in Europe, tailoring relevant inform<strong>at</strong>ion for<br />

decision <strong>and</strong> policy makers through a particip<strong>at</strong>ory <strong>and</strong> circular approach, capacity building userbased<br />

tools, specific training programs, dissemin<strong>at</strong>ion activities,<br />

• increase the inform<strong>at</strong>ion regarding the drought conditions on wildfire <strong>and</strong> post fire risks<br />

management <strong>at</strong> clim<strong>at</strong>ic time scales (from seasonal to longer time scales) for n<strong>at</strong>ional <strong>and</strong> local<br />

authorities decision-making procedures <strong>and</strong> planning activities,<br />

• collect scenarios on the effects of clim<strong>at</strong>e change on veget<strong>at</strong>ion <strong>and</strong> fire occurrence,<br />

• investig<strong>at</strong>e adapt<strong>at</strong>ion str<strong>at</strong>egies <strong>and</strong> approaches to deal with future fire occurrence.<br />
