20 Caffeine fix One of Orrell’s longest running coffee mornings will soon be at a new venue. The Orrell & Billinge Community Network’s event is held on the last Friday of each month at the Methodist Church on Church Drive, and will soon move to the church hall behind the new Living Faith church on Church Street. On Friday, May 26, 10am, the first coffee morning will be held at the new location, where in addition to hot drinks, toast and teacakes, there is also a brica-brac stall and a popular home-made cake stall. The profits from the coffee mornings pay for the Over 75’s Christmas party, and donations are also made to charity and to the Orrell & Billinge Community Network. Organiser Joan Winstanley said “We’re delighted to be moving to the church hall as it’s a lovely building and we’d like to thank the Living Faith church for making us so welcome at their new home. “All of the volunteers are looking forward to welcoming customers, old and new, to the first coffee morning at the Living Faith church”. The last coffee morning at the Methodist Church on Church Drive will be held on Friday, April 27.
