SH Restoration & New Build Supplement
Renovate
and CELEBRATE
It’s official, you can add thousands to the value of your home with well-chosen, simple refurbishments
It’s not just the stuff of dinner party conversations – the slightly annoying
kind where smug people boast about how much their houses are worth.
When someone says, “We’ve just put a loo in the cupboard under our
stairs and added more than £26 grand to the value of our house and it only
cost us two and a half to put it in…” it’s a matter of fact. (Although still
annoying of them to boast about it.)
Figures released recently by the Federation of Master Builders (FMB) and
the Home Owners Alliance have confirmed exactly how much we can add
to the value of our homes with different additions and renovations, via an
extensive research project involving estate agents and builders.
And, making it all even more appealing, all the projects they studied can
be done in two weeks or under.
Here are the official numbers for the value increase after various home
improvements in the South East – and it’s no surprise to find out that the
two biggest value swellers are things we are very keen on at this magazine:
