A SPECIAL mention goes to the family of Christchurch<br />
motorcycle racing legend Tommy McCleary, who passed away last<br />
month.<br />
Mr McCleary was 87 years-old and lost his battle with cancer<br />
on April 26. He was a loyal member of the Wigrams Lions Club,<br />
clocking up 41 years of membership.<br />
Mr McCleary’s story is told on page 1.<br />
Also on page 1, St Thomas of Canterbury College has had a<br />
dream start to it’s football season.<br />
They defeated Christ’s College 9-0 in the opening round, with a<br />
few players notching up a fair few goals each.<br />
The team is looking to qualify for the premier national secondary<br />
school tournament in September.<br />
