ourselves during the tour.
Our next stop was the just-as-beautiful
Ogunquit, a small seaside village in
southern coastal Maine.
Ogunquit is known for being an artists’
community with a fine smattering of galleries.
We paid a visit to the Ogunquit Museum of
American Art. The featured exhibition was
the creative growth of Dahlov Ipcar, one of
Maine’s most famous talents. One exhibit
had 93 pieces illustrating her path from
childhood crayon drawings to more
sophisticated adult paintings.

featuring paintings
and sculptures of
area artists. We
particularly enjoyed
the works on
display here, even more than those at
the museum. Before our brief stay in
Ogunquit came to its conclusion, we
hiked a distance on the Marginal Way, a scenic walking path
encircling the town and providing scenic views of the rocky
Maine coastline, a perfect place for taking postcard quality
photos.
Our final trip destination was vibrant Provincetown, Mass. If

one asked me to describe the feeling, sights, and sounds of
“P-Town,” as it’s colloquially known, the first thought that comes
to mind is our own Key West. P-Town is the perfect venue for
browsing, people watching, and shopping. To get a feel for this
city’s colonial history, we climbed the 252-foot, all-granite Pilgrim
Tower, built between 1907 and 1910 to commemorate the first
landfall of the Pilgrims in 1620, and the signing of the Mayflower
Compact in Provincetown Harbor. The panoramic view of the
entire area was well worth the sweat. P
