THORPE ABBOTTS SOCIAL CLUB
AND VILLAGE HALL
I am pleased to say that we now have 60 members in the Club
for the current year. Attendances are strong with other guests
often joining us
On the first Saturday in May approximately 50 people attended
to enjoy Tony Bryant’s varied music, which included a line
dancing element which was enjoyed by those taking part, or
watching like myself. I guess its routine enough and I get the
impression they can do it in their sleep! No offence meant.
Next month we have the popular Dave Drain Band which is a
four member group, who take up considerable room on our
small stage. Their style is a very vibrant theme with a variety
of music enjoyed by the members. Why not come along for
what promises to be a good night.
The Hall is being used on a much more regular basis than in
the past few years and is showing signs of wear. With many
improvement ideas in the pipeline we will need some internal
redecoration later in the year to ensure that the Village Hall
maintains its appeal to those attending.
Volunteers will be needed at some future date.
The Social Club Committee regularly supports local charities
and has recently made a donation of £250 to the new EACH
project for a new build near Norwich.
A big thank you to those who come along and to those who
help share the workload. It is much appreciated.
