you been a DC?<br />
I’ve been a Debt Counsellor for 4<br />
years. Since being registered in<br />
2015.<br />
What did you do<br />
before becoming<br />
a DC?<br />
I was working for the Department<br />
of Education for 17 years as an<br />
administrator. I later worked for<br />
other Debt Counsellors while I was<br />
studying for the National Credit<br />
Act (the Debt Counsellor) course. I<br />
became full- time Debt Counsellor<br />
in 2015.<br />
Why did you<br />
become a DC?<br />
As I was working for the Department<br />
Education I realised that we all lack<br />
the knowledge and information<br />
about financial matters.<br />
I also realised how we need to be<br />
updated about all changes that are<br />
happening around us in terms of<br />
being over indebted.<br />
I was also in a negative financial<br />
situation after my divorce and it had<br />
personal impact on me, it was after<br />
that when I realised that I need to<br />
try to help those who end up in the<br />
same situation I used to be in.
