All that man has lost through sin has been
restored “through the redemption which is in Christ
Jesus.” “For this purpose the Son of God was
manifested that He might destroy [undo] the works
of the devil.” 1 John 3:8. All this is accomplished
for us, “not by works of righteousness which we
have done, but according to His mercy He saved
us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing
of the Holy Ghost, which He shed on us
abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour.”
