Zambales is one of those places that pretty
much has it all – a few cities and towns,
lush, tropical vegetation and 107 miles of shoreline
with open water and sheltered coves with soft powdery
white beaches and some of the best water sports
in the Philippines. And in Zambales, water safety is
a prominent and important feature of the provinces’
marine facilities.
Under the guidance of Roger Bound, and supported
by Standard Insurance and other sponsors Zambales
has one of the most effective Life Saving programs
in the Philippines. The young lifesavers engaged in
the program train vigorously year-round to hone
their skills, and are now amongst the very best in
the country, both in competition against other
Philippine teams and in the real world of actually
saving lives. This proficiency was proven once again
in this year’s Zambales Summer Spectacular, a
competition for lifesavers, held in March at the
Palmera Beach Resort. Palmera is also an active
sponsor of the surf life saving program, and is where
ABW chooses to stay when in Zambales; it is a resort
which we thoroughly recommend to visitors.

RAMA Beach Resort, Act. Quintin Sajorda, Zambales
South sponsored by Broadwater Marine, HHID
Dumaguete and the Mayor Rundy Edbane team.
In the Juniors Division there were six teams: the
Zamba swim team, Brent Zambales Juniors, two
Zambales teams sponsored by Broadwater Marine,
Mayor Rundy Edbane’s team and the Villa Kiana
Inn/Crystal Beach team.
