ERIE CANAL CHILI SAUCE was a created by my great-grandmother<br />
around the time of the Civil War. Passed down for generations,<br />
it’s one of many lasting family traditions. It is still made like she<br />
did it, with farm fresh vegetables and just enough spice for the<br />
perfect taste. Enjoy the old world flavor of simplicity from our<br />
1860’s recipe.<br />
ERIE CANAL JAMS carry a recipe as far back as the Civil War<br />
that was used amongst the farm wives. My great-grandmother<br />
used to sell a summers supply to the packet boat cooks and to the<br />
canal side stores. This recipe is unchanged and is as good today as<br />
it was those many years ago.
