Landmark Tavern
In 1970, Andrew Hengst and his sons Andrew Jr. (Jock) and Steve opened the
Landmark Tavern in a unique historic building in Bouckville, New York,
fulfilling a longtime dream of Andy’s. Adolph, Andy’s father, had owned a
meat market and grocery store in Hamilton for 50 years. It was there and
later as a food service director at Colgate University, that Andy learned
many of the basic requirements of a good restaurateur.
From the historic Landmark Tavern comes a line of dressings created in
their kitchens and now bottled for home use. Their homemade House
Dressing, Raspberry Vinaigrette, Barbecue Sauce and Coleslaw Dressing,
follow the same recipes sampled in the dining room of the Landmark Tavern
itself.
